Day courses are an excellent way to deepen our understanding of Buddha's teachings and develop the qualities of inner peace, love and compassion that we understand are the very essence of the Dharma. You do not have to be serious Buddhist to attend our day courses as they are intended to benefit people of all capacities.
Day courses at Khedrubje Buddhist Centre generally start at 10am and either finish at 2pm or 5pm depending on the course. You do not need to wear any special clothing and you will not be expected to sit on the floor as we meditate on chairs to ensure that everyone is comfortable. The courses that finish at 2pm cost £10 including a light vegetarian lunch and the courses that finish at 5pm cost £15 including a vegetarian lunch. Please contact us to book.

During this half-day course we will receive teachings and engage in meditations on the clarity of the mind. Normally our mind is being blown here and there by the situations and experiences of our every day life and we have no choice but to feel stressed in some situations, elated in others and depressed or unhappy in others - and because of this it is very rare that we really experience mental peace inside; which in general is what we really want. On this day course we will learn how to access the nature of our mind - our own inner peace that is naturally present in our mind when our discursive thoughts and feelings subside - and use it as a resource that can be both of benefit to ourself and others.
This day course starts at 10am and finishes at 2pm. It includes a light lunch/brunch. Please contact us to book.
During this half-day course we will learn about the Buddhist view of the ultimate nature of reality, which according to Buddha our ignorance of this view is the cause of all our suffering and problems. Because we do not acknowledge the role our current state of mind plays in the way things appear to our senses and our mind and how that effects what we see we often find it hard to be happy and at peace all the time. Through learning the ultimate nature of reality we will come to deeply understand that the purer our mind is the more pleasant the appearances to it will be and that the qualities we perceive in things actually has more to do with our mind than we might realise. This is Buddha's most liberating teaching and therefore is definately worthy of our time.
